Here is where I'm gonna post up some of my teams. ill only post teams that have reached 1300+ rating in the PO Ladder or 2200+ or top 50 in the Smogon Ladder.
First team is going to be a very standard rain team. Felt like laddering on Smogon and used this team. It achieved a rating of 1981 very quickly which was 17 on the ladder. at the time, after the ladder updated a couple times it was far behind, about 83rd so I decided to ladder again. hit 2384 then I stopped, this again put the team in top 20. this time at the 18th spot, I feel like I could've gone higher easily as I was undefeated up to that point, but I simply got bored.
enough of the ranking of the team, lets move onto the team itself.
Politoed @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Protect
- Ice Beam
I immediately started with politoed as it is a rain team, i went for the standard SPdef set with toxic/protect. scald for burn/stab and ice beam for coverage. nothing more to say here.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed
- Waterfall
After thinking about it for a while i decided that i needed a decent setup sweeper and D-nite was a good choice, with stab outrage, priority E speed and a good setup move in dragon dance, i figured he would work out well. waterfall is for rain boost.
went with a standard lum berry set, max spd and atk.
Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Trick
after having chose politoed and D nite i figured i needed a good rain abusing scarfed pokemon, and rotom-W is definitely a good choice here. standard max spatk max spd set with scarf. thunder for abusing rain, hydro for hitting hard, volt switch for scouting and trick to shutdown walls that threaten the team.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip
Every good balanced team needs stealth rocks right? well ferrothorn in rain is a douche to deal with, enough Sdef to live some hits with max hp and the rest in def. standard set pretty much. leech seed for recovery, t wave to slow down opposing sweepers/trouble pokemon.
Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
Scizor is most used in the usage stats for both normal OU and competitive OU for a reason. he gives this team a nice rounded out feel, decided to go for a bulky swords dance set for late game sweeps on unsuspecting teams. roost for HP recovery along with leftovers, stab bullet punch and super power because it hits hard.
Starmie @ Expert Belt
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Rapid Spin
And finally the last pokemon is starmie, what a great pokemon to, hella fast and packs a decent punch. thunder/hydro pump for power, ice beam for coverage and dragons. rapid spin for getting hazards off for D-nite mostly. the set is pretty standard except expert belt which gives me a little more power and can confuse opponents when they see no item. this thing also switches in to statuses with natural cure.
Anyways thats the first team from douchenip, hope somebody gets some use out of it as much as i did!
